Safety & Education
The coordinator for this position is Pete Flores.
Safety & Ed is going well. I might have walked into this in the middle of things, but I'm quickly learning some of what it's gonna take to run this show. For starters, I can't do this alone. I've enlisted three new people who stepped up to help the cause. Tara Andrews helped when we went to Mackinaw H.S. Her experience working in the E.R. gave them an inside look of what could happen. Also being a female rider herself let other female students know it's okay to learn themselves how to ride. More and more woman are riding in front! We're working on more ideas to spread the word. By the time you read this we've been to Springfield and back. Hoping to change the politics minds. Voicing our opinion makes a big difference. Means we won't just sit back and let them make laws to profit from them later. When they change something, it just means they can put a price on the Freedom you we're already entitled to in the first place. Funny how that happens! Read your State Papers and read between the lines. The same fight is happening across the state. Our Safety & Ed Funds are under attack. If education doesn't work, they are gonna take matter's into their own hands and say you must wear a helmet. And if that doesn't work they can take away your bike! What can you do? Make good choices! Don't drink and ride! Wear protective gear! Perform routine check-ups on your ride. T-CLOCK!! If you don't know what it means, maybe you need a refresher course. We can also contribute by taking a rider course, 20 refundable dollars, and possibly lower your insurance. If we don't use these things, they can say we don't need these courses! So ask how you can help and one of our Friendly Officers will tell you who to talk to. So you can feel a part of something that could change your life.
